Say cheese!

The Norfolk Deli has been a staple of the Hunstanton high street for 10 years. The award-winning deli focuses on selling local produce from local businesses – with a whopping 70% of products sold made in Norfolk. Owners Mark and Rosie describe themselves as "more cheesemonger than a typical deli but offer more deli produce than a cheesemonger".

With a selection of over 100 premium cheese varieties, reliable refrigeration is of utmost importance. "One of the immediate benefits we noticed with the EcoShow is the way it has significantly improved our ability to maintain the quality of our cheese. Our cheese not only looks better but also stays fresher for longer. Like most business owners, the Norfolk Deli rank energy efficiency as one of the most important characteristics of a product.

Moving to the EcoShow will save the Norfolk Deli nearly £3000 on their energy bills every year “which gives us more cashflow to spend on stock. Its £3000 we can spend on more cheese!” Assuming a lifespan of 10 years, that’s a staggering saving of £30,000! That isn’t even taking into consideration the cost of running air conditioning to combat the heat generated from the open fronted multidecks.

“With the other display chiller we have, they’re so dimly lit I keep wondering if I’ve even put the lights on at all!”

The EcoShow’s powerful LED uplighting means there are no dark spots, so all produce is shown equally well lit. “The colour of the LEDs is warm, and we’ve noticed it invites people to stop and browse the cheeses on offer, inevitably leading to more impulse purchases. The lighting is almost theatrical, which really does draw the eye of the customer.”

The Norfolk Deli has been able to condense two multidecks worth of produce down into just one EcoShow cabinet, halving the space required. A 3-kilo wheel of brie sits comfortably on one shelf, meaning that they don’t have to cut it up to fit.

The increased shelf depth combined with the significantly improved temperature stability also means that additional stock is displayed, further enticing impulse and saving the operator from needing a separate storage fridge.

“Let’s just say, the other multideck we have is your bog-standard SUV, that would make the EcoShow a top-of-the-range Range Rover with all the bells and whistles.”

The EcoShow is fitted with our award-winning +stayclear condenser as standard. Its innovative aerofoil tube technology dramatically reduces blockages and the build-up of dirt, keeping the condenser clean.

“We’re not technical people, so the fact that we don’t have to clean the condenser is great. The idea of unscrewing parts of the multideck and putting it back together again is not for us. The thought that this will also help us with our maintenance bills is also of great comfort.”
